In a past relationship, it was a source of frustration for my partner that I was a consistent “NO” person. I think back on those times with the desire to understand my mindset at the time. STRESS … that is what stress does to us – it violently removes our desire to LIVE our life. In 2011, I have simply decided to be the BEST me possible. What this entails is simply having passion for life and the willingness to live it to the fullest with joy while abolishing stress. I go with the flow, enjoying the ripples of the tide, and the crashing of the waves. I now have the ability to agree to everything while honouring myself. BEAUTIFUL

Together, we bought seeds to sprout, shared our blossoming viewpoints, and made plans to dehydrate super food cookies together. I never thought she was a diamond in the rough, but I didn’t think we could possibly be kindred spirits.

All it takes is one good idea to bring forth the promise of abundance and prosperity. However, so many fantastical thoughts that enter our minds leave just as quickly because they seem to improbable or impossible. Or, we simply don’t know what to do with them. I am a conduit for ideas, but I usually maintain them on a small level. I have decided to change this. From now on, I am going to THINK BIG.

I’ve been working on a couple of projects in my spare time – notably myphpcms and The Holistic Ontario Directory. My original thought was that I would grow them sprout-size, and then grow different, other sprouts. Instead, maybe I should consider growing them into shrubs or trees?

My first week as a “YES” person has been… interesting, challenging, and rewarding:

I wasn’t especially interested in attending my last Toastmasters meeting. I didn’t have a role for the meeting and was planning on staying home. However, last minute, I was asked to fill a role as an evaluator. I delivered a rather grudging “YES”, but it turned out to be a great meeting, and I provided feedback on a truly enjoyable speech.

Often, I know I have frustrated my sister with my constantly full schedule and inability to be flexible with spur of the moment plans. This week, I clearly surprised her when she asked me out to dinner and I responded with an immediate “YES”.

This weekend past, a friend invited me to an afternoon workshop on starting seedlings. I delivered an immediate (but less enthused “YES” than I would have hoped), but it turned out to be an absolute blessing. Little City Farm (Urban homestead / eco B&B) turned out to be one of those undiscovered gems in Kitchener-Waterloo, the type of gem that I would like to gaze adoringly on my finger.

Further to this past weekend, another friend invited me to a launch party for Backyard Bounty. “YES”. During the course of the afternoon, I discovered a great book on sprouting (complete with recipes) that I’m going to pick up at Organic Botanics this coming weekend in Guelph, in addition to a collection of medicinal and culinary seeds to grow.

It was recently brought to my attention that Dr. Brian Clement is coming back to Southern Ontario to speak. Having seen him this fall, I would love to see him again… however, his talk is 2 days after we get home from Iceland and the night before we’re due in Ottawa. How could I possibly say “YES” to this one without it costing a mint? With a little bit of creativity, it seems we will trade in some Air Miles, fly to Ottawa first thing on the Saturday morning and make a weekend of it. Crisis averted, “YES” to be provided!

My first week as a “YES” person went excellent. I had a few challenging moments, a few moments which I choose not to share with the general public, and several that I had to respectfully decline, due to possibly negative mental/emotional/physical results.
